Galaxy S20 FE is official and there’s a lot to talk about!
Starting with the name, The FE stands for Fan Edition
The original S20 was quite expensive. The standard S20 costs $999, The S20+ costs $1099 and the S20 Ultra costs $1399
So Samsung launched this new Fan Edition for fans who wanted an S20 but for less without compromising too much. The Galaxy S20 FE is designed to give you almost a similar experience to the standard S20 without cutting too many corners. Here’s everything you need to know about the Galaxy S20 FE.
The S20 FE looks very similar to the standard S20 in terms of the design but the back is made out of plastic instead of glass to help keep the price down. It has the same button placements and the same port selection so there’s not that much of a difference in terms of the design other than having a flat-screen and a slightly thicker bezel around it.
The Galaxy S20 FE has a flat 1080p 120hz Super AMOLED display with 407ppi. While the standard S20 has a 1440p 120hz display, users had to switch down to 1080p to use 120hz. So, there’s not much difference in everyday use regarding the screen. And just like all other Samsung devices, this screen is incredible.
There is a new set of cameras on the Galaxy S20 FE. The primary lense being a 12MP f/1.8 wide camera followed by a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera with 123˚ field of view and an 8MP f/2.0 telephoto camera.
The results are exactly what you’d expect from a typical Samsung camera.
The Galaxy S20 FE comes with the same Snapdragon 865 processor meaning the performance is top-notch but it only comes with a 6gb/128gb option. However, it does have a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Galaxy S20 FE has a huge 4500mAh battery just like the S20+. And with the screen being 1080p, it should last till the end of the day. It comes with a 15W charger inside the box, even though it supports 25W charging.
The S20 FE still has 15W wireless charging and IP68 water and dust resistance. And the phone comes with 6 color options to choose from. The S20 FE also features an optical in-display fingerprint scanner which is less secure compared to the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor found in the S20.
Now, is it worth the $699 price tag?
The S20 FE IS a pretty good phone and the price is also reasonable. But for the same price, you can find the standard Galaxy S20 with a much better build and design, the option of having a higher resolution screen, the better camera, the much better specs, faster charging, and a more secure fingerprint scanner.
So, who’s this Galaxy S20 FE for?
Well… for people who don’t love the curved screen on the standard S20, or for people who want these new fancy colors on their phone, Galaxy S20 FE is a good deal.
Bottom line: The S20 FE is for fans, Onlyfans.
Anyways, that’s been it.
